Putting Positivity into Diabetes

Posted on February 27, 2012

Be POSITIVE about life and diabetes.  Yes, be POSITIVE.

That is what I want you to take away from this post.  POSITIVITY!

We all have good days and bad days.  Happy times.  Sad times.  Fun moments.  Challenging moments.  And the same is true with diabetes since it is part of my life.  But, I choose to stay POSITIVE.  About life.  About diabetes.

POSITIVE.  Is there such a thing when you are living with a chronic disease that can cause challenges and debilitating complications?  Yes!

It’s so easy to get caught up in the negativity around diabetes (and life for that matter).  The hassles.  Unexpected challenges.  Nuisances.  Frustrations.  Low blood sugars.  High blood sugars.  Complications.  Etc.

But it is just as easy to get caught up in the positivity of diabetes if you so choose.  The POSITIVE.

If you have a low blood sugar, smile:)  you get to have a snack.  Pick something good.

If you have a high blood sugar, smile:)  You tested.  Caught the high.  Corrected with insulin.  Improving the quality of your life in the moment and long term.

If you have a frustrating or challenging day (we all do), smile:)  You are alive.  You are experiencing life. Everyone has good days and bad days.  That  is part of everyone’s life.  But being able to experience life is a precious gift.  Do not forget that.  You are experiencing life and you just happen to have diabetes.

You have the choice to live in a negative or positive state.  Choose to be positive as much as you can.

Think about the positive impact this has on your health, your diabetes, your life, and others.  Putting positive thoughts and energy into your mind, body, and world is very healing and therapeutic.  Empowering.  So good for you!

You did not choose to have diabetes.  But you can choose how to live with it.

Put a smile on your face.

Think positive.

Live positively.

Give it a try..

Take care everyone!
